Polars is the lightning-fast DataFrame library written in Rust from the ground up to utilize all CPU cores and vectorized memory. Current Technical Challenges & 90-Day Deliverables: • Architect out-of-core streaming query planners executing joins and aggregations on datasets larger than physical RAM. • Optimize AVX-512 and ARM Neon SIMD kernels for string filtering, hash aggregation, and datetime parsing. • Construct distributed query compilers translating high-level Polars expressions into optimal physical execution DAGs. • Lead open-source performance benchmarking against DuckDB, Spark, and Pandas 2.0.
